NetZeroAICT Joins Global Experts at the International Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Congress in São Paulo, Brazil
NetZeroAICT attended the CISP2025 Congress, held from May 15–17 in São Paulo. Organised by SBACVSP – Sociedade Brasileira de Angiologia e Cirurgia Vascular Regional de São Paulo this flagship event brought together over 1,200 attendees, 200 speakers, and 80 abstract presentations, making it one of the most anticipated gatherings for the vascular community in Brazil.
With a strong focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, the congress provided a platform for national and international experts to exchange knowledge and advance the field of vascular surgery.
Regent Lee, Professor at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences – University of Oxford, and Scientific Coordinator of the NetZeroAICT consortium, contributed to two plenary sessions:
- Session: Society for Vascular Surgery
- Presentation: Discovery of proteomic biomarkers of abdominal aortic aneurysm growth
- Session: Aorta
- Presentation: CT imaging biomarkers of abdominal aortic aneurysm growth & The aorta as a portal for interdisciplinary innovations
Regent’s presentations emphasised the transformative role of AI in medical imaging and its potential to revolutionise healthcare.

The NetZeroAICT project aims to:
- Reduce radiation exposure to enhance patient safety by developing digital contrast #CT Scans, harnessing the power of AI
- Address shortages of Radiographic Contrast Media (#RCM) while promoting sustainable practices
- Decrease the environmental footprint of CT scans for greener healthcare
This initiative is a collaborative effort uniting academia, healthcare, and industry, co-funded by the European Commission and UK Research and Innovation.
