Advancing AI in Radiology and Sustainable CT Imaging
We’re proud to share our latest contribution to NVvR Memorad, where Z-Visie is featured as the author of an article highlighting our role in the Horizon Europe project NetZeroAICT.
This initiative explores how generative AI can replace iodine-based contrast agents in CT angiography with synthetic contrast images, a breakthrough that could reduce patient risk and significantly lower the environmental footprint of radiological imaging.
Z-Visie is coordinating the clinical validation of these AI models, ensuring they meet the diagnostic standards of real-world healthcare. Our team of radiologists brings together deep expertise in AI and clinical practice to support responsible and sustainable innovation.

Key highlights:
- AI-generated contrast from native (non-contrast) CT scans
- Applications in vascular imaging: aorta, pulmonary arteries, carotid arteries, peripheral vessels, and coronary arteries
- Ethical, legal, and ecological aspects integrated
- Consortium collaboration across Europe, the US, Australia, and South America
This project shows how radiology can evolve toward climate-neutral healthcare systems, through technology, collaboration, and clinical rigor.
